I did a little something different with this blog. In quotations there is two different song lyrics to songs that I fell for the second I heard um. I've listened to them a lot latley and I thought it pertained a little to the way I have been feeling and to thought's I have been thinking recently. (Ironic) I owe a lot of my love for the more simple things in life to the one and only Jack Johnson...

I've recently come to terms with the fact that people all around me are constantly trying to be something else, or working to PROVE themseleves, putting on a show for a audience that these people could really give 2 shits less about... most certianly people that they very much so DISLIKE. why would any one really want to do such a thing? "come on and tell us what your trying to prove" don't deny it... there are people that you despise! it could quite possibly even be ME. you dislike me, yet you want me to see how GREAT you are, you hate her, but you want her to see all of your new clothes. you would kill him if you had the chance, but you'd also just LOVVVE to wave your shiny new toy right infront of his face. No? Hopefully some of you read this and think, WTF is this girl talking about?

Maybe if I do THIS it will get under her skin, maybe if I have THIS he will be jealous, maybe if I buy THIS I will be much cooler than the next guy... In that moment, once we're there, once we've got it, for that ity bity moment we all feel sooooo muuuuch bettttter about ourseleves. we feel HOTTER, COOLER, SWEETER, RICHER, or BETTER than this person, or even... Everyone else... BUT infact, we are NOT at all better... by having everything we are the ones who are owned! jokes on us. our things own us and by constantly needing more by always trying to PROVE ourseleves and MAKE ourselves look and feel better, we are merly digging into a much deeper hole... it could be a hole of debt, a hole of selfishness, a hole of arrogance, a hole of MAJOR ego problems, a hole of lost friends, or a hole of LOOK AT ME! I'M PRETTIER, NICER, BETTER, but really just FAKER than you.

so many words make you look weak. we talk the talk, but do we really walk the walk? "The truth is we say not as we do" talk is cheap, and sometimes we talk too much. I know I'm guilty... I'm doing it now. what happened to the simple things in life? Not sweatin the petty?? Just being you??? what happened to proving ourseleves to ourseleves, NOT everyone else? I'm not about to sit here and tell you I'm perfect. I have flaws as do YOU. I have made some pretty crummy mistakes, and it hurts everyday. but I was born human, and if no one else can see that... THANK GOD that he who is GREAT, can. THANK GOD for not judging you on every little thing you do wrong. and THANK GOD he loves me no matter how many times I have screwed up. I'm trying. give it up people.
